One of the things that most creators of outdoor advertising just don't seem to get is that you have the most distracted audience on earth. You have, at most, 7 seconds to attract the viewer, who is driving by at 70 mph, get them to read your message and remember it. They can't write anything down, especially a phone number or URL. All you can hope to do is make a memorable impression on them about your brand.
MISS. Make it simple, stupid.
In this case of promoting the LA Forum we just wanted to get people to remember to buy tickets for their favorite two teams in LA, the Lakers and the Kings. Shouldn't get any more complicated than that. And these were designed in an era when you still had the option of images that burst beyond the frame of the latest digital board.
